Sustainability Studies for the “Pay As You Throw” Scheme
In the context of the implementation of the “Pay As You Throw ” scheme in Cyprus, specialised sustainability studies have been carried out for the Clusters of Communities and the Municipalities participating in the scheme. These studies assess the feasibility of the scheme, its economic impact and its contribution to rational waste management and sustainable development.
Each study includes an analysis of the existing infrastructure, proposals for improvements and adaptations to the needs of each area, as well as proposals for the supply of the equipment necessary for the successful implementation of a scheme of source separation and separate collection of recyclable and organic/biological waste and the implementation of a “Pay As You Throw” scheme with a prepaid bag.
