RESIDUAL WASTE

INCLUDING:

Any waste that is not diverted to one of the other streams. That is:

  • Toilet paper
  • Diapers
  • Personal hygiene items (e.g. toothbrushes, razors, wet wipes, sanitary napkins, etc.)
  • Toothpaste
  • Gelatines, cellophane and foil.
  • Food trays
  • Water glasses – Coffee cups – Disposable plates
  • Snack bags – Frozen food bags
  • Styrofoam – Straws
  • Absorbent cleaning cloth
  • Kitchen and cleaning gloves
  • Kitchen potholder
  • Cloth Hangers
  • Horn-Rimmed objects
  • Hair accessories
  • Non-packaging plastics such as pots and buckets
  • Handles, brooms, mops
  • Watering hoses
  • Non-recyclable stationery such as spiral notepads, pens/markers, rulers, wrapping paper, slides and filing cases, etc.

Waste from this stream is placed in the special prepaid bags. The less waste produced, the smaller the volume will be and consequently, the lower the cost of purchasing prepaid bags.
